Top Ten Tips to Spring Clean Your Yard

Spring is a great time to start afresh and rejuvenate your surroundings. One of the most

satisfying ways to do this is by spring cleaning your yard. Here are some fun tips to

make your yard look as good as new. Choose one--or choose them all! After a wild winter, I'm feeling kind of excited to get outside and pull a few weeds.

1. Get rid of the clutter:

The first step in spring cleaning your yard is to remove any clutter. This includes dead leaves, branches, and any other debris that may have accumulated during the winter months. My grandkids love to use the leafblower to get stubborn leaves out of the garden beds.

2. Tend to your garden:

Spring is the perfect time to start planting your garden. Begin by clearing out any dead plants or weeds from the previous year. Then, add some fresh soil, and plant new flowers or vegetables.

3. Clean outdoor furniture:

If you have outdoor furniture, it’s likely to have collected dust and grime over the winter. Clean it up with a power washer or a mixture of soap and water. You'll be surprised at how much better it looks--and smells!

4. Trim trees and bushes:

Spring is the best time to trim any overgrown trees and bushes in your yard. This will help promote healthy growth and keep them looking tidy. With all of our winter storms, it's a good idea to call a tree service and make sure that your trees are in tip-top shape.

5. Add some color:

Brighten up your yard by adding some colorful planters or garden decorations. You can also paint a fence or add a new coat of paint to your front door. Blue is very popular right now!

6. Create a compost pile:

Spring is the perfect time to start a compost pile. This will help reduce waste and provide nutrient-rich soil for your garden.

7. Add some outdoor lighting:

Installing some outdoor lighting will not only add ambiance to your yard but also provide security. Solar lights are relatively inexpensive and require no difficult installation.

8. Clean gutters:

While you’re at it, don’t forget to clean out your gutters. This will

prevent water damage to your home and keep your yard looking clean.

9. Start a birdhouse or bird feeder:

Add some life to your yard by starting a

birdhouse or bird feeder. This will attract birds and add a natural touch to your yard.

10. Have fun with it:

Don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun with your spring cleaning. You can involve your family or friends and make it a fun day out in the sun.

Spring cleaning your yard can be a fun and rewarding task. By following these tips, you’ll have a yard that looks as good as new in no time. Happy cleaning!
